well, it seems i got my winter back. its sleeting here this morning.
you know, that's just the world we live in. we have a lot of people who require a lot of electricity. i felt guilty the other day because i wanted to blow dry my hair instead of leaving the house with a wet head. what a luxury! people who say they don't want nuclear power? how you gonna blow dry your wet head and leave all the lights on when you walk out the door?
i'm not championing nuclear power here, i'm just tired of people saying we should shut nuclear plants down - an impossible scenario without some serious creativity in current politics.

Amen. It's always easier to say it than to do it. And I, for one, am quite fond of running a heater in my bathroom while taking a shower.
preach it. i'm sick of people thinking that electricity is this magical thing that just flows through three little wholes in the wall. when will folks learn that you can't get something for nothing ? even wind energy comes at a cost, and no, i don't just mean that the wind mills look ugly.
Well said. Same with how "awful" the mining companies are making all those poor miners get trapped underground. It is our need for electricity and cheap fuel (don't get me started on oil) that drive all of this. There is such a disconnect on the part of the general public around this issue.
You ok, sweetie?
I just found your blog, and GOD DO I LOVE IT! I couldn't agree more. Thank you.

right on... 'developed countries' consume more power and generate more waste...AND lecture the third world ..ha.... you guys have it good..blackouts and rationed water are a daily reality in most countries...
so true, it is a delicate situation that needs a creative solution
from the Interdependence Project: "...in Japan, it takes one nuclear reactor just to power all the drink dispensers that allow people instant 24-hour access to hot and cold drinks. I wonder how many it takes in America? Am I willing to give up instant hot and cold drinks to prevent nuclear fallout?"
