i can't get it together for a cohesive post, but owe something to this bloggy. something that illustrates even a small portion of what we've been doing out here.
but let me say this: i am living flowers in fast motion. i am taking my social hour while making bouquets. my friends don't even call anymore.

And Associated (flower wholesaler): Your coffee break station in the flower market is a beacon, a refuge at 6:30am. But replacing the donut holes with tortilla chips? STOP. IT'S. NOT. ACCEPTABLE.

wake up late
rush to finish flower order for Beyonce interview
take car to Four Seasons Hotel
car driver mysteriously knows my name
he says all pretty girls are named Sarah.
I have to agree.

he says it must be boring to be as rich as Beyonce because there is nothing you can't have.
later i pretended i was rich and charged some new shoes. and some shorts. la di da.

I'm a junkie for cab rides. Love 'em. At my first job years ago my boss would send me on errands in a cab. I would ride to the accountant's office on the Upper East side and pretend I was a rich lady. It felt so luxurious. I still feel like a million bucks in the back of a cab.

Today I took one to lunch at Tea & Sympathy. One of my favorite places, we've been going for over 10 years. I miss the days when you could smoke inside. All the British waitresses would defend you're bad habit and holler if someone next to you made you feel bad for lighting up. When I did smoke, that is. Now it's full of tourists, but it's still good. I sat next to two girls who spent the first 5 minutes with their food photographing it.

Anyway, the picture above...naturally I'm planning a comprehensive campaign to make Aaron stay in NYC. I'll take suggestions...But first I ask you; is there a bar called RAWHIDE in Blacksburg, VA? No. No, there is not.

__

A delivery from this weekend of limoncello roses, dogwood, muscari, and stuff. It was for the opening of a new shop nextdoor to us - Tiburon - a tiny charming place full of handmade digs...

Good Timez: R.I.P.

Aaron is leaving NYC. If I've been planning your wedding, cancel it. It I've promised you soap, forget it. I'm on a Chris Issak and Bonnie Prince Billy binge, and there's nothing you can do. At least there's a new Gossip Girl on tonight I guess.

Still putting my room back together after painting a few weeks ago. But the color is so hot, I can't stand it! I'm blazing a color revolution right here. I also can't seem to get enough dogwood. Getting more tomorrow - and we're going to have a stoop sale at Saipua this weekend to start clearing things out for our move. I have:

old watering cans
old ceramic jugs (7 or so)
stuff
stuff
chotchkeys
an English bull dog

So swing by this weekend if you can to relish saipualand before it all blows away...

Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. Even on a rainy day its magnificent.
The new Yeah Yeah Yeahs? Not magnificent. I was listening to it and it was so boring, I cried. So then I turned on the television and watched an episode of the Dog Whisperer where Cesar visits Ed McMahon. Then I ate 2 almond joy easter eggs. In a word, the antidote.

Flowers from a delivery yesterday...these incredible purple fritillaria were available for only $6 instead of $10 so I jumped on them...and is there anything more beautiful and versatile as dogwood? What is your favorite spring flower? Hellebore, muscari..so many good ones this time of year..

First Aid Kit

Nicky sent me this cover tonight, and then I found this by the same girls (above). I saw Neko Case perform last night. Shes is...something else. I have been missing real music lately. Eric put on the stereo tonight and we listened to an old Bjork album. It made me remember college and a some sort of perceived freedom.

EASTER WEEKEND BREAKDOWN, and secrets REVEALED!

Sunday 11:50 am: Waited for Jeremy outside his studio in the truck parked under the williamsburg bridge. Engaged in what must have looked like some seriously shady secret eating with a bacon egg and cheese biscuit from EGG (they have takeout; it's the best $6.50 you'll ever spend). Watched couple make out in front of the refridgerator restoration place. gross.

Later at Lowes...Jeremy is so smart he actually uses his sketchbook for drawing and not for doodling and rewriting Prince lyrics. Here he is calculating something...

Then at our new warehouse joint, where SAIPUA WILL BE MOVING IN JUNE! Thats the secret, are you excited? You'd better be, because we're working our asses off to make the hottest retail joint for freshness and all things saponified!

Then Suze came and brought homemade hot cross bunz. Cue pornshot of bunz:

We walked dogs. We're watching Otis for a while, a big cuddly monster of a bulldog. My mom says, c'mere little monster! C'mere!

Then we made dinner.

An showed off her knife skills. She also stayed sober enough to notice that we were cooking in a cold oven..

Aaron surprised us and came home after weeks away. Now I have someone to listen to Vanity 6 with! And Informer! I will tell you, i mean INFORM you more about our new space soon!

And we're off...first wedding of our season. Butter yellow and ivory...Dogwood, tulips, fritillaria, tea roses, larkspur, andromeda, anemones, ranunculus, sweet peas. Very beautiful at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens this time of year. Stunning really. The Palmhouse is always so beautiful. Joelle and Amanda helped. Joelle made little bird cookies. Those who bake I keep close.
