SOS!!! Saipua needs a web/tech person

We're so lucky to have so many neat people who work with us and hang with us.
Now we need someone to lend tech/web support.
This person would:

- be able to do a light overhaul (is that oxymoronic? is oxymoronic a word? no, it is not.) of our current site saipua.com
- know how to manage the "shopping cart" feature for our website
- possibly set up the site so that I can make quick updates
- help us configure a network in the new saipua headquarters
- lend expert computer knowledge in general
- preferably live in NYC
- be efficient and able to start this project RIGHT AWAY

This person would be paid by the hour whatever the fair going rate is for this stuff.
If this is you, please email me at sarah[at]saipua.com with some info about yourself

Please spread the word if you know someone! THANKS!!!!!!!!

6 weddings and my own funeral

As a florist, the best way to recover from a crazy June wedding weekend is to buy yourself something really expensive, but since I'm operating from a mode of fashion self-restraint these days, I opted to maniacally clean my apartment from top to bottom. OK, just the kitchen. OK...just the kitchen floor. Then I walked the dog for, like, 25 miles in Brooklyn since she's been sorta neglected these days. Now I can't really feel my hip flexors. On our walk I stopped to get a manicure on Court Street and I opted for no polish. A NO POLISH MANICURE. How effing mature am I? Right?

11:31 pm: a rare moment with scooter

only when Eric takes Nea out, and only when I am wearing black does Scooter get up in my lap. today is Eric's birthday. he ended up working late on the new space with Jeremy, so we decided to forgo dinner and opted for cocktails and LP's at home.

shizzels

from one of last weekends weddings...things here are still crazy town with the move. we've been working out of BAKED (coffee shop) and from home...it's been a bit hard to keep up...thanks for your patience everyone.

easy like sunday morning

finally feeling better...going now to make some flowers for the table tonight over at Sunday Suppers...seriously. such a beautiful project. rhubarb lavender crisp...when i can taste food again, that's where i'm going.
i have a few meetings today, then i hope to quit at 2pm and

- finally remove the last of my nailpolish from 2 weeks ago
- reconfigure the plants on my stoop so their not covered in birdshit

yesterday we did a few weddings, they went off without a hitch. well i did cut myself. and as the blood formed that little blood bubble on my finger my mind trailed to TWILIGHT (which apparently i am the last person to see) and specifically to that guy who plays edward cullen, who i will pretend not to know the name of.. AND not to have googled all the celebrity sightings of when i was at my lowest this week. next thing you know i'm bleeding all over the info desk at Wave Hill with a stricken employee frantically rummaging through her desk for the first aid kit.

Photos by Karen Wise

We made flowers for Anli and Kenneth's wedding back in April. They're ceremony and reception was at the Palm House in the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens during the peek of the magnolia's blossoming...'nuf said. These photos by Karen Wise are so spectacular...it is a real treat to see my flowers through her lens. More at Karen's blog...

from a wedding in April...

...beautiful prints by Katie Vernon. She based the flower illustrations on arrangements we made here at Saipua. I love the color palette of the whale. And the chin hair on the ram too.

IF I COULD HAVE TIME IN A BOTTLE.

checklist:
-moved the contents of the shop yesterday to the warehouse
-even though no one ever has a good reason to leave nyc, aaron moved out of town yesterday
-it seems that i have either inhaled too much dust* during the move or am actually sick, which is practically impossible since i never get sick. really, ever.
-eric just suggested we make chicken soup and use it in a neti pot. i'm going to fairway to get some.

*think about dust. how old some dust is. and then what happens to that old dust. it breaks down even more. and just gets older and older and smaller and smaller....but don't think about it too much, or you might have a panic attack over it, as I did this morning.
