I love to get ideas from you for combinations of flowers but so often have failures...some time back I tried dog rose and it lost it's petals within hours.
Is the UK dog rose different rom dogwood? They look so similar.
Is there a way to make them last a few days?

cait - dogwood is different than dogrose - dogrose is a type of rose (that produces rosehips once it's flowered). Dog rose is incredibly fragile, i never use it...dogwood is a flowering tree. much more sturdy. not sure if you have dogwood in the UK

My first time visiting your blog by way of Oh Joy! and I love seeing such beautiful flowers (dogwood!), especially on a dreary day like today.

Thank you so much for answering my question, I have checked online and it appears you have the monopoly on dogwoods. We appear to get Cornus sanguinea but that's it...Cornus sanguinea have a different flower...it is still pretty, just different.
I have been forcing branches here of blossom and foliage and must try this one..

corn chips would be very soothing to the belly at that hour - I cant even tell you how many times I wanted something to eat at the market at 6am...jus' sayin. I made a hand tied with dogwood today in honor of you.
