I have so much jazz to pin up here kids, so I'm just gonna spill it all, sans editing.....

1.I have been listening to Talk Talk's Laughing Stock from 1991 for the past few days. It is so perfect. LISTEN TO IT (especially if you like Genesis, the Phil Collins years).





2. Brooklyn Flea. Sure it was cold and windy but me an my mooks sold a bunch of soap and meant it! I also met a slew of great folks and found some treasures:


A.) In a world of boring tote bags - this from The Fair School is a beacon...


B.) These earrings made by Erica Weiner ... who has a blog which is really great ... which is where I found this amazing new perfumer out of brooklyn called D.S. & Durga...


C.) This 19th Century photo album....


D.) Reincarnated furniture by Nightwood. Their objects and furniture are all made from scavanged wood. Each unique piece has a raw and eerie quality about it. This is a flag-like wall hanging held by artist/partner Myriah Scruggs. Their website nightwoodny.com is coming soon....


E.) A pack of strawberry pincushions by the truly gifted Sian Keegan...


F.) Milton Carter, whose King Tut t-shirt has made me a better person, was also there. I told him how his "sphinx shirt" has changed my life. He told me it was King Tut, not a sphinx. (I just want to say here that I know the difference between King Tut and a sphinx, but that in that particular moment I was confused.)

Aaron successfully shoots, develops and screens 8mm films. Abstract films. I love them....he's a genius, but when I came home to this instead it was a little pleasure amidst a weekend of madness.

Today's working weekend antidote: falafel, a trip to Other Music, coffee in the park and some new magazines including Bon Appetite (they had me at Steak Frites) and Colors.

Thanks for your comments gang -- I love seeing them - and it was pretty neat to meet some of you yesterday at the flea market -- I have some fun things to post here tomorrow from there.

[A little order i made this afternoon with ranuncula, anemone, arabicum, tulips, eucalyptus and astrantia.]

Today Eric announced "I HATE FLOWERS," and threw a dead helleborus at me.

We need a vacation...so we'll be closing next week - reopening on April 17th. During this time off we're planning on doing things that normal people do. Do normal people get massages? Just say YES, and let me know if you have any recommendations for a NYC masseuse.

......I just remembered; I had a dream about Angela Landsbury last night. We were cohorts in a plot to stop developers from sabotaging an ancient Mayan ruin located on top of City Hall. (They thought there was money hidden inside.)

It didn't work, so we walked home together and I told her all my problems.

Dear Abby; a sweet dog we're watching. A sweet dog that cries in the night. All night actually.

This is what 4:30 AM looks like. Approximately the time I decided, To hell with it! I might as well get up and go to the flower market.

Playing still with the leftover flowers from last week this morning. This little bird vase is sweetly creepy. Gonna bring it (and it's twin sister) to the Brooklyn Flea this Sunday. Hope some of you will stop by and introduce yourselves!! Eric and I have to boogie and get some things together...we're planning on selling soap, small bouquets, and a selection of the best do-dads.

Below are some shots of the purple sample re-worked this morning with peach and orange ranuncula. These ranuncula from NJ open to reveal the most beautiful yellow center - unlike those from Holland.

Today I was thrilled to come across Tomato Bob's website -- the best site I've found for heirloom tomato seeds. It's an incredibly comprehensive collection. You have to visit it just to admire the crazy names of different varieties (My loot includes: Mortgage Lifter, Mexico Midget, Korean Love Apple, Yellow Pear and Black Zebra varieties!!!)

In 1893 the Supreme Court unanimously decided that the tomato would be classified as a vegetable (Nix v. Hedden). This however is not technically correct. Botanically, the tomato is a fruit (specifically a berry) because it acts as the ovary (together with the seeds) of a flowering plant.

If at this point you are wondering if I am procrastinating, you would be correct.
