fuck, I'm glad to be a girl

THIS WEEKS ACTIVITIES:

- hired asheley full time, our second full-time employee (besides Eric and myself). so proud of this, and so grateful to have someone so talented, enthusiastic, resourceful and bright as part of our team. between deanna and asheley things are going to be insanely great this spring

- pulled off a beautiful job at the Guggenheim Thursday and am so excited to keep working with them on events

- spent 1 hour + trying on lipsticks in Sephora. Fucking love sephora, it's a great mid-week destresser. i emerged 100 dollars poorer and with swollen lips. fuck if i care, i'm sporting "dragon lady" this week, and it's hot. (DONNA - GO GET NARS DRAGON LADY)

- made a zillion deliveries - people are finally starting to understand that we deliver to midtown. but do they understand that it's actually US delivering to midtown, and that WE spend countless hours listening to bad hip hop whilst trying to desperately map a location of hale and hearty inbetween delivery #3 and delivery #4? thank god for the iphone

- busted my iphone, face first on a sharp corner of a cobblestone. do you want to know what it costs to replace the glass on an iphone? you don't

- first big wedding of 2011 on Saturday, congratulations J & C!

- Winter Wild class today, crazy talented group of women, wild and wonderful arrangements. truffled cheese and lambrusco. damn.

- Oh and a sweet reader from Jacksonville, FL came in the shop tonight as I was elbow deep in buckets and made my week. almost cried. it's because of you.

GOOD NITE!

1. a good lipstick makes everything better. something I only learned a couple of months ago. how, 28 years in, have I not discovered this? niagara, you say?
2. nice clients make the world go round.
3. I don't miss scurrying around in mid-town. now we're just stuck behind the horribly slow (!? how?) drivers here in austin. hmm.

Yep. NARS is the effin' bomb. I'm sporting "Damned" these days (don't ask). Welcome to the Dark Side, Baby G...>:)

P.S. U can find some GREAT i-phone protectors at case-mate.com. Mine looks like a tire tread.

nars is amazing; generally, i opt for crazy eyeshadow, as opposed to lipstick, because it requires less re-application and is more cocktail friendly. but, would love to start dabbling some more in the levres...

i love nars so much. i've never been a lipstick wearer until nars... new nars store on bleeker? yeah, try going in a leaving without spending a benji on a few floozy-named lipsticks. (manhunt? cruising? so good.)

lipstick is the cure-all for so many ailments...

Wow those colours! I'm not a make-up shopper but have been thinking about Sephora all week for a little de-stressing. I am loving the look of that lipstick -- you should match bouquets to lipstick more often, it's a real selling point on both accounts.

The Q&A section of SAIPUA's website states:

Q: Do you ship bouquets?
A: No.

Is this still true?

Sarah Ryhanen said...

yen; it is true we don't ship bouquets. too many of the flowers we use are fragile (like the sweet peas in that bouquet pictured) and it's just too risky to box it up and send it via post or UPS. if you want to email me I might be able to help you find a great florist in your area...

Thanks Sarah! I just sent you an email.

Two things: 1. I am working really hard to break my Sephora addiction. This post is weakening my resolve. 2. I also cracked my screen on my iPhone. I know how much it costs and that is why my screen is STILL cracked months and months later. That July contract upgrade can not get here fast enough!

i just dropped my iphone in the toilet, so i feel your phone pain. maybe i should make a trip to sephora to help fill the angry birds hole.

I could spend my entire damn paycheck at Sephora if I had no self control. If you're a lipstain girl, I highly recommend Josie Maran's magic markers next time you're at Sephora.

Lipstick may not fix any of my problems, but it sure as hell makes me feel better! And I looove NARS. Like you wouldn't believe. Some favorite lipstick shades include Funny Face. Heat Wave, and Niagara. Check em out! Plus that bouquet is gorge!

If only every girl could have a gorgeous coral pink bouquet (with stunning poppies might I add) that match her lipstick to a T...the world would definitely be a better place. Now imagine training your man well enough to get you a bouquet and a Sephora gift card?

this post is being written about in an assignment for my gender and communication class.
because, fuck, i'm glad to be a girl, too.
i'm not going to skip my lipstick today,
