wallowing in self pity and extreme boredom, part 1

Totally snowed in and bored here. I've always been the type to get bored easily. This morning we laid in the shallow snow drifts down at the park. That was the most exciting thing that has happened to me lately and so I include a photo of it here.

Then I came home and was bored. Made tomato soup and grilled cheese. Typical. Looked at stuff on the internet. All the same stuff. I took some pictures of dust in the apartment. Looked at my Christmas pictures. Boring.

Now I'm trying to wrap my head around the Copenhagen Interpretation and the infamous double slit experiment which indicates that electrons behave like both particles and waves - basically implying nothing is real unless we observe it.

Please know that I am real. And right now I am stuck in Red Hook and am very bored.

ahahaaaa. Sarah, that was really funny. I did the bored snowed in thing over Thanksgiving in Idaho Falls. I almost went out of my mind.

it's pretty nutty out there and we're lucky to live up the street from the firehouse or we would likely be snowed in as it's queens. don't give up the ghost, life will be exciting once again in red hook before you know it. probably by friday when all of this snow melts and turns into floods.

steve martin's tweets are kind of funny ... @SteveMartinToGo.

OMG WTF LT did you not read the post?! We're marooned here! And you make it seem like I could just slip on some flip flops, hop on my bike and meet you guys for a margarhita?
Wait! I could just hitch up nea to my trusty bobslead and be there in around 4 hours, wait for me, k?

Yeah, I'm going nuts with boredom too. I found myself watching a public television documentary on ferrets today. Finished a book, did a workout DVD, researched a camera lens I can't afford.....I'm out of ideas.

girl, you so would not make it out here. i haven't left my comfy abode in 7-count 'em, 7!!!-days. pretty much how it goes in the life of this forest-dwelling-stay-at-home-writer every winter. i've got food, i've got a wood stove, i've got a new baby, a new book to write, and plenty of hooch, so, boredom is no bedfellow of mine. . and the internet. goddess bless the internets. hang in there!

What a classic, while you're snowed in, I'm feeling slight bungalow fever in the tropics where the wet season has me rained in. At least it isn't cold. Your beautiful dog (where did you get an Aussie blue heeler?) looks like he shares your pain.

Same thing down here in NC. Stuck at home. However, I quite enjoy being snowed in. The hubby is the one who gets restless..... which in turn makes me insane.
Love the post with the call from the mayor. Hilarious.
