slowly ranunculus are starting to come into our world again. the really good ones will arrive in a month or so. for now I'm happy to get some ranges of pink, a few decent salmon colored ones. nothing spectacular...most have really weak stems and get clipped short for decoration around the shop.
I got what may be the last of the dinner plate (cafe au lait) dahlias this week. they are still in the back of the truck. it's disgustingly awesome outside now, rain, 46 degrees. we've stopped prepping flowers and are typing up wedding bids with numb fingers next to Ye Old Space Heater. If you know a reliable and trustworthy general contractor in brooklyn, hit us up.
and hey, thanks for all your nice comments about little scooter.

Good to know I'm not the only one with cold fingers and toes at work. At least you have pretty posies to look at.
i was just out a lunch on 34th street and its a wind tunnel..keep warm inside. think of sunny days!
sounds like a perfect time to visit san francsico
Those dahlias look so much better than the ones I get in San Francisco. Enjoy the last batch! I can't wait for ranunculas either :)
so pretty! love your work space!!!!
Yeah--Beantown is pretty cold and raw today too: 38 degrees and blustery. I don't have a space heater though. Just an overhead fan blowing disgustingly warm air on me. It feels like a giant is exhaling on me....gross.
Anyway, those nuncs are perfect; so simple and elegant. They actually look a bit like camellias in that pic.
wow, it was 94 degrees here today... send some cold this way please!
They look adorable clipped that short. I think they look spectacular even if they are weak.
