Here are the table arrangements from my last wedding. Ball jars filled with stuff. Each table got a pint and a quart jar.I'm mixing up a lot more flower jams today, so i'll post hopefully this afternoon. There are some do-dads from yesterday I'm especially excited about ... red dahlias, succulents and stuff. Is it just me, or is the cut-life of dahlias disappointing? Are you all getting them to last more than 2 days? Before the outer petals start crisping...

Yes! So disappointing. My dahlias look so perky and pretty uncut, and as soon as I put them in a jar, they start going south. I can only really get one good day out of them.
dahlias are one of the few flowers i would use a hydrating solution on -- just to give it that extra few hours. a squirt of lemon juice would even help, but dahlias are doomed to be a fleeting beauty i think.
we've had good luck with hot water. they still don't last that long though...
It cannot really have success, I suppose so.
