I just had a work dream. I have those not so often.

In this dream I was working on preparations for a wedding. Instead of working here or in the city at Saipua HQ I was in a big architecture office. There were lots of women with severe haircuts hanging around.

I decided to add something to this wedding. Snakes.

So I went to a pet store and bought 7 harmless garden snakes of various sizes. I kept them in a taped up box in my closet. They kept escaping; this was the stressful part of the dream.

In my plan, we would release these snakes on the head table and they would add a mysterious dark element to florals.

My boss did not like this idea. She said the bride would "freak out" over the snakes. I told her to take her Scandanavian accent, minimalistic outfit and severe blond hair and shove it! Office drama ensued.

In the end we just released the snakes for the pre-dinner photos, and the bride never saw them.

We've been at Worlds End enjoying the start of autumn, my favorite season. If I could live in perpetual autumn I would. Aaron is here and we are taking lots of walks, mulching, talking about the universe, compiling a list of current country music tropes and researching Tonya Harding on our phones.

I would live in perpetual Autmn too if I could. Such a great season. The colors and the crisp mornings are my favorite.

Also snakes at a wedding? Sell it to Hollywood....

Snakes are an ancient symbol of feminine wisdom-perfect at a wedding especially at the head table.

Gotta love work dreams (nightmares). That's the best one I've heard so far. Your work is amazing, thank you for sharing it. And yes, late fall weather, year round, would be perfect for me.

Not an unhappy dream then, you have the dream photos with snakes to look back on. So evocative. The evening picture is so calming, I'm so happy for the return of autumn and long cozy nights.

oh my! the snakes idea is genius for a wedding editorial shoot of some sort! (or, if you could keep them contained, an actual wedding. :))

I have to say that the snake idea is kinda cool. Even though I hate snakes. I'd like to see the pre-dinner pics. Wouldn't it be cool to be able to do screen grabs of our dreams?

Im not sure but I think according to Freud snakes represent sexual drive :-)..... and Jung belived that snakes where a symbol of wisdom of nature. "Snake dreams always indicate a discrepancy between the attitude of the conscious mind and instinct, the snake being a personification of the threatening aspect of the conflict" :-))

What an odd dream...

But some lovely pictures! Do you mind if I ask what kind of camera you use?

Maybe it's a sign that you should buy some Cobra Lillies (Jack in the Pulpit) to use in your designs.

I wait for autumn all year, and then I'm always so disappointed, because fall in the city is pretty cool, but it's nothing compared to fall in the country... September always brings dreams of ditching our house in town and finding a farm... Kinda like you did!

I have a question. What kind of flower is that? Its petal arrangement is symmetric in shape.
