saipua_gd_springbouquet

[above a bridal bouquet from a few weeks ago with spiraea thunbergii, ranunculus, lilac, sweet peas, cherry blossoms, freesia, etc]

I'm just a big ball of hate this morning sugar heads, and a lot of it has to do with the fact that our new luxury suv driving neighbors are taking chain saws to every fucking tree in the back of our building. I started crying, thinking about all the birds that won't be able to find the trees they usually land in.

Eric, ever the moral compass of reason, said to me; "Sarah maybe they want to plant a vegetable garden and need the sunlight."

Then I'll set their fucking garden on fire! I said.

Haha kidding I didn't say that. I shut up about it and started emotionally eating blueberry muffins instead.

Take 'em a muffin and ask the WTF.

Here is your opportunity to plant your very own tree, or two, or three.

Feed yourself flowers, and toss those muffins over the fence to quiet the workers for just a little while.

Cheers!

Agreed with Michelle.

Glad there were muffins left for you. You really need one when this kind of thing happens. Again....you need to buy the farm.

Sounds like how I felt when they poured GRAVEL over all of the grass in front of my condo. So now instead of a grassy lawn, I have a gravel lawn. I know, I know...I live in the desert. We need to conserve water, but there is something particularly depressing about a gravel lawn.

If I could redo my wedding, I would fly from The Netherlands to NY to have you make my wedding bouquet... (and I would help you slap the neighbours while I was there anyway...)

Alone and laughing out loud about what you 'didn't' say, but still very sad for the birds.

I am with you about the trees...that is nightmare material. And I double dog dare to you to plant some trees of your own!

that's exactly how I wold be feeling too. I really think you should plant some trees too. I bet you're not the only disappointed neighbor.

Sarah, I just wanted to drop in and say you are an incredible writer. I check your blog constantly, not only for the visual stimulation, but for your witty, quirky words. Thanks for having a blog!

Its called "the sacrificial tree" or in this case, trees. My good friend pointed this phenomenon out to me years ago, and by observing it all these years, it is sooo true. New house/ property =sacrificial tree, it is so sad!
