It's taken me over a month to return the The Met after an unfortunate incident at Admissions. Does everyone pay the full admission price? Rhetorical question...Ain't no one gonna guilt me about my donation, damn it.
So it was with some hesitation that Elyse and I headed over last night. I paid more than usual, and made her give the money for both of us. Once safely inside we enjoyed the hell out of some American Wing.

I found a bunch of old photos this morning. Look at this picture of my other mookie, Claire! This was taken years ago in my old kitchen in Blacksburg, VA. I had so many books, and was such an intellectual! I painted! Claire is one of my oldest friends. She a high roller in Las Vegas now, and is helping me weed my way through some real estate jargon as we start the process of looking for the next Chez Saipua upstate. Now I just need to get the cash moneyzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

This is a birthday arrangement from last weekend - them there in front are some leaves from one of my favorite begonias. (R, if you want you can root those...just put them in some water in a sunny window for a few weeks till they grow roots, then plant in potting soil.)
ps. I found a perfume that I finally like. I have looked for ages. Nasomatto - Duro. It says on the website that it "aims to enhance all the manifestations of male strength." To which i say, "Oh HELL yes."

What am I going to do when you get sick of seeing pictures of Nea and flowers? The jig'l be up! I'll be ruined!!!

p.s. Aaron is supposedly coming to town tonight. So you can look forward to those photos instead. I've got to get to the store to stock all his favorites: Truffle oil, Smart Start, mangos, Triscuits. Aaron likes anything you can spread on a Triscuit.

i was so impressed with this little delivery Amy made last week. everytime I walked by the cooler I admired it - finally I took it out and looked at it closely, from 360 degrees.
eric finally says "what are you doing?"
"student becomes the master" i replied.
if any of you florists out there are looking to steal Amy from us, hands OFF! I've got a stockpile of microwave popcorn, a cute puppy and a few other tricks up my sleeve to keep her here...

take a minute..
you can SO easily donate $10 by texting the Red Cross with your cell phone.
Text "Haiti" to 90999
And read all about it the New York Times. They've already raised 1.2 million via Text...What a phenomenon!
or visit Wyclef's site which offers a similar text-donation...

YOU MUST..
...try the 36 hour chocolate cookie, which is to say you must make the dough and patiently rest it for at least 24 hours before baking it. which we all know is a stupid torture, as if I've ever had the forethought to say to myself, "gee i'd really kill for a chocolate chip cookie with my coffee TOMORROW afternoon, but not really right now, because right now i'd like to gnaw on a raw carrot."
you can read all about the chemistry here and see the recipe here. eric is kicking a bad habit, and so he's baking a lot as means for distraction. after these were made and eaten he said to me "make sure you pick up some fruit for our cobbler snack tomorrow afternoon." what can I say, my life is charmed.

first wedding of 2010
This morning I was sorting through photos on my computer and clipped recipes from (I think) my grandmother. They are all really dated, and unfortunately most involve canned ham. Or something called spry.
I have to run and deliver the first wedding of 2010 this morning...already late, and hopefully I'll have time to take a few snapshots and show you.
