The best Pakistani food is on 9th Ave between 36th and 37th. $5 lunch, nice and spicy. The most unusual mint green color graces the walls, floor and booths. I'm currently trying to put together a color scheme for the biggest personal project of my life: reupholstering a couch. Aren't you excited? Any tips on where to get good upholstery fabric? Because there's just a lot of wide wale corduroy and fleur de lis out there. And not enough love.

will have to check that pakistani place out, i live close by. i do have a fabric place to recommend: baranzelli, on third ave near 56th. it's a discount place so sort of hit or miss. it's kind of retro-waspy/old-lady style (great in a sort of kitschy way) and it's beautiful quality at good cheapish prices. also on the same block there is a scalamandre outlet, which is even more wacky grey gardens old lady style. i love your blog & your flowers!

Hmm, do you like Josef Frank's fabric patterns? I think the original source is Svensk Tenn, but I believe Ikea carries a few of the patterns now.
