and we're back! Barely made it - imagine Eric and I running through CDG to make our flight Tuesday morning after a security gaurd confiscated a jar of nutella-like hazelnut spread from my carry on:

"It's Fine," I said - "Just take it."
"You see, because it's over 250 ml..." she said pointing to the weight on the can.
"I understand."
"And anyway this is...not very good, this brand. This brand is...how you say...cheap."
"We. Are. Going. To MISS OUR FLIGHT." I said.
"You know...there are other, better brands."
[At this point I was just sort of rocking back and forth turning red, humming very slightly.]
"I bought this once, a long time ago. And I didn't like it AT ALL. I had to throw it OUT!"

Oh God, that sounds stressful. I'm glad you made it back, even if you had to leave your crappy no-good Nutella wannabe spread at CDG. The last time I went to CDG, THREE security guards asked me if the dude I was with was my boyfriend. Since we hadn't had a Relationship Defining Talk, I had three extremely awkward conversations with complete strangers in front the dude, starting with, "Define 'boyfriend.'" It was definitely suboptimal.

so French, so hysterical. Good that you made your flight. In Paris now, will check out Merci soon--everything at Saipua looks beautiful as always...

ugh!! CDG is the worst! one time a security 'madame' took me aside, went through my entire already stuffed suitcase (after she dramatically put on latex gloves), then when she put the stuff back, she left out a pair of underwear, that was NOT going to fit back in.

i put them in my trench pocket...
